I have been critical of the Outlaw 970 two-channel performance, Outlaw tech support classifies me as an audiophile.
However, I am finally happy with my two channel via my recent ebay purchase of an Outlaw ICBM. The Outlaw ICBM is the perfect complement to the 970. The 970 is best in two channel with analog bypass and the ICBM lets you integrate your sub, in my case the fabulous Outlaw LFM-1EX, with your main speakers in analog bypass and also multi-channel bypass.
My speakers (av123 Strata Minis) are perfect crossed over at 40hz to the LFM-1EX. In addition, I use the Channel Islands VDA-2 DAC fed by a squeezebox 3 and would gladly put this combo up against any cost no object CD player.
It is too bad that Outlaw doesn't sell the ICBM anymore because this is a great product and I will probably pick up another unit for pure two channel use.
