I almost got Paradigm Reference speakers, which I loved when auditioning. But then I heard the DefTech BP2000's and fell in love with the bipolar sound. That was 3 years ago, and I havent looked back since.

I had some expensive JBL SVA1800's before that but the horns in them just got too annoying for long listening sessions.

Like gonk said, everyone has their own sound they latch onto.

I will admit that there are some songs that when I listen to them, I wished I had direct radiators, but overall, I wouldnt change a thing speaker wise.

gonk, I agree. The hatred for DefTech doesnt really exist here. But even mention DefTech at some other places, and you'll get attacked by all the self proclaimed audio wizards within minutes
