How many have taken advantage of the 970/7075/LFM-2 combo deal? Does this seem like a good deal to you? I've been thinking about this a great deal since I read the newsletter, and still can't decide.

Here are my thoughts. At $1,298, the 970/7075 seemed a little too expensive when I compared it to the 1070 itself. Further, when you compared it to other receivers in that price range, it didn't seem to be worth the additional expense. Outlaw's high reputation for superior sound quality notwithstanding, you could get something of comparable quality with more features at that price range.

But by adding the LFM-2 into the mix, the ante has been upped. It seems hardly possible to find a separates solution and a subwoofer in this price range! I had been almost totally set on a 990/7125. But at this price point, I don't know. You seem to be getting an awful lot for your money.

This is a very good deal. I bought the 970/7075 for $1298 (I should have waited perhaps) without the sub. Regardless of the sub deal. It is a nice package. I probably would n't go back to receivers. The sound is great, power is more than adequate (probably not for others). Shipping it to Canada with duties/taxes came to $2300. It seems a little pricey but I certainly found an improvement over using receivers. As far as the sub deal goes, I don't know if this can be beat, Pre/Pro/ Amp / and sub for 1298. If I had another TV room, I'd buy it! Just my two cents. Besides, if you are n't satisfied you can return it.

I am ready to order the 907/7075/LFM-2 combo to go with my Axiom M-60's after agonizing over whether to buy Emotiva or Outlaw products. With all of the helpful comments and experience on this forum, I was convinced I would not go wrong with either the Outlaw 1070 or the 970/7075, and the combo deal with the sub was the deciding factor. It will probably be a few months before I get the rest of the system (center and surrounds) so it will be used in Stereo mode to start, but I'd be willing to bet I don't wait long to get the rest!

Gonk- I just saw an old post about the 970 not being as good as the 990 for music, does that hold true for the 1070?

The 970 and 1070 are the same platform, so both have the same DAC's. The 990's better DAC's and other design differences do yield benefits, most notably for music.

In my opinion that is true. I ordered and received a 970 for office, thinking that it was a 990 with fewer features, most of which I didn't need in that location. Listening to some music (which was the reason for getting one in that location) I felt it lacked 'substance' (?) perhaps transparenecy. So I took my 990 from living room to office and did an A-B comparison as best I could. The difference was astounding. And since I'm more about music I decided on a 990 for that room also.

I called outlaw and I was able to return it for credit against a second 990. Great policy. I am happy with the 990 in "office" location as well.

The only video I have hooked up is for monitoring the settings and selected inputs. Furthermore in this location the many inputs afford great flexibility.

You guys are killing me, smile lol. This is how I ended up with M60's instead of M22's, I ordered them and then changed my mind with predelivery upgraditis! By the time I'm done, I might have to buy the 990 with the 7125 but skip the sub for now. I wonder if Outlaw would give me a combo price on their B-stock 990 deal and the 7075 with the LFM-2 Sub? At this rate I'll probably exceed my original receiver budget by 50%, good thing for the Outlaw credit card!

Here's a thought, how about one of those B-stock 990's that Outlaw just put up for sale and pairing it with the Emotiva LPA-1 and still getting a LFM sub!
