i just set up my 970 / 7075 and ran my dvd player (sony NS775V) and cable box (scientific atlanta 8300HD) into the 970 via component cables and ran a component out to my monitor (panasonic 42phd8uk) and noticed that the signal was significantly degraded from when i had run the dvd player and cable box directly into the monitor. the overall image appeared washed out and the blacks were greyer. when i re-ran the cables directly into the monitor (bypassing the 970) the image was fine. the cables are good quality monster cables so i don't think they are the problem. any ideas why the image would be stepped on? i assumed a component pass through would be pretty clean. i eventually plan to run everything via the dvi (although this requires a new dvd player) but i am
hesitant with the component issue. any thoughts out there?

I also noticed the grey blacks and stopped running my cables through the 970. They're now hooked up directly to my projector.
