I have not seen the white flashes during a movie on my 970, but I did see them while rotating thru the video selections during set up process. Specifically, I had switched from auto to component to S-Video (my PJ was tuned to S-Videe at the time), when I saw a white flash. Thus, I am wondering if the problem people are having only occurs when set to Auto, and perhaps some movies cause the 1070/970 to auto detect incorrectly for a brief moment? If so, then setting the unit to component or S-Video instead of Auto might solve the problem. Just a theory.

I thought about this too, but the flashes persist when my DVD input is set to "Component."
