Hi,
Just got an SMS-1 and all was OK but now it does not output an LFE signal EXCEPT in self-eq mode. When in manual, auto or just working there is no output. Noob at this...
Thanks for any advice and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Thanks for the quick reply!
I'll be more specific: If I take the cable going to the sub and connect it to the LFE-out of my processor, the sub works great. If I then move that cable to the LFE-out of the SMS and use another cable from the processor LFE-out to the SMS LFE-in, there is no signal to the sub. I have tried 3 cables and metered this last one.
BTW, it all worked at first. Am I missing something?
Thanks again.

Never mind for now. All seems OK but I still don't know what it was. Will re-post if it happens again.
THanks!

Forget last post. Problem exists just as I described in the 3:27 post. Thanks...

There are a few things that I'd start with. Make sure the volume level of SMS-1 isn't at zero. Make sure the SMS-1 isn't muted. Make sure that you are connected to the connection identified as "RP12" on page 6 of the Outlaw SMS-1 guide . And if you are using the SMS-1's test tones to verify that the system is working, make sure you've connected the SMS-1's EQ Output to an input on your receiver, set the input to "analog" and "stereo" (don't need any surround processing), and set the mains to "small." I don't know how many of these you've already done, but that's what I'd start with.

Thanks for your patience...
Even after a 890 reset with preset 4 at volume 15, there is no output from the SMS LFE. There was before with the same hookups. As I said in the previous message, the proc LFE is working when connected straight to the sub. All speakers set to small and 80hz xover. Input is analog stereo for the connection from the SMS EQ out.
After a 12345, the sweeps are fine through the mains, just not the sub.
Am I going to kick myself when I (you) figure this out?
To be clear, it worked yesterday with the same setup and wiring.
What is that small button on the remote's upper left for?

Hopefully this won't trigger any self-kicking but, have you checked the connection from your processor's LFE out to the SMS-1's LFE in?

I remember having had similar problems and breaking into a sweat every time, and every time it turned to be something stupid, like a loose phono connection on the sub, having plugged the lead from the sub into the "yellow" video socket instead of one of the LFE outs while using S-VHS to the display, or using the wrong wall wart in my collection... And I'm no more stupid than the rest of us! So check, and check again, all cables OK and plugged into the correct sockets?
