Has anyone used REW to set up their SMS? A gent over at AVSForum showed some before and after pics that look pretty impressive. I have only had a short time to play with mine, but I am impressed with it! I let the SMS do its own thing and it basically cut all the sliders at 60hz and below from -8 to -12 and raised the top two +4 and +6 respectively. I adjusted the phase on one of my PCUs and that took care of the valley above 60hz. I can't wait to have more time with it!! Any tips would be greatly appreciated,

What room EQ wizard are you referring to? If you mean the auto-EQ (or the similar self-EQ, which is actually a little different), then yes I have used it. It does a might slick job, but that's just the start of the SMS-1's capabilities. Manually setting up the EQ can yield a remarkably smooth response curve.

Ahhh... So the RoomEQ Wizard software (which I hadn't seen before) can integrate with the SMS-1? Slick. The results he got with it look comparable to a good manual setup with the SMS-1.

I suspect that the AVS poster's laptop offers a lot more processing horsepower than the SMS-1, so I don't know how easy it would be to add that sort of automatic muscle to the SMS-1, but it's cool to know that you can pair the two up.

From what I gather you can run the RoomEq Wizard and it will give you values to plug into your SMS. I know, I know, half the fun is playing with it. I believe it can be hooked up directly to other eq's like the BFD and it will program it for you. I like the SMS because you have the ability to watch on tv as you are playing!! Still some pretty cool software especially for free.
