I came home tonight after a couple of hours out and turned on my TV and nothing. The 1070 goes from standby to green, but the screen doesn't come on and there is no sound. Even if I use the input buttons, it doesn't change inputs.
I cannot reset it because there is no screen. I have it unplugged, and will leave it so overnight. Any suggestions on what to do?

What kind of surge protection do you have between your equipment and the wall? Any chance lightning could have struck and turned off your power strip to the TV and the inputs to the receiver. Any other power issues?

I'm not sure of the surge protector brand, but there is protection. No lightning last night either. No other power issues.

I unplugged it last night and let it sit overnight and it turned on and worked this morning. Now it seems to have stopped working again and the screen has gone back to being blank.

What doesn't work today? Is it the same as yeaterday? The combination of the AVR and the TV both not working makes it sound like a power issue. If they are powered from the same source try separating them with an extension cord to a known good source to see if they work. It wouldn't have to be a lightning strike. It could be a power surge or a voltage fluctuation. It is strange that the AVR comes on without sound and the TV doesn't function. Are your speakers fused? If so check the fuses.

Oh sorry, The TV is working fine. The screen I'm referring to above is the 1070 screen, not the TV.
The TV works unless I run the signal through the 1070. In other words, it's not just that the screen on the 1070 isn't displaying. The audio and video isn't working as well.

When I say I turned on my TV, I should have said turned on my HT.

The problem is that the 1070 screen is blank. It is unresponsive to the buttons or to changing inputs. The standby light changes from orange to green, but thats it.

OK. Got home from work and plugged the outlaw back in and it worked for about a minute, then the TV and sound cut out and then came back on without the sound. I restarted it and the sound came back, but then disappeared after a second.

I also hear the sound like its switching inputs when it cuts out. The screen on the Outlaw seems to be working. Would a reset help this?

It almost sounds like the 1070 is cycling a circuit breaker inside of it. Try disconnecting it from everything and then turn it on. If it does come on then something is shorting somewhere and causing internal protection to actuate. If it does the same thing it sounds like it will be making a trip back to Outlaw. Whenever something like this happens to my system, I go back to the last thing I did to it for answers.
