hi has anyone hooked up a 1070 with a 7125.i just ordered one.i have totem mites for frt spkrs,mission 761i for rr spkrs, definitive technologies powered sub & signature spkr for the centre

I'm sure there are a lot of 970's paired with 7125's, but there may just not be as many 1070 owners who picked up outboard amplification (particularly that specific unit). What sort of feedback are you interested in? If it's regarding the 7125, you might get some good comments in the 7125 forum.

While I have not had any experience with the 7125 with the 1070, I have used the 970 with an ATI 1202. Originally I was using a 7075 for all 7 channels then switched the front to the 1202. What I found was that while it was not necessarily louder, it was cleaner shall we say. Better headroom for peaks. I was really impressed with stereo listening using the 1202 (120x2) close to the output of the 7125 (at least front two channels).

i wonder if it is advisable to use the 1070 as a pre-amp

It's got pre-amp outputs for that very reason. I used my old 1050 as a pre-amp before getting the 950 and it was a good arrangement.

I've used a 1070/7125 combo for a long time with absolutely no problems. Sounds great!
