I just got a new toy ! and I need help ....
would anyone know how to get a code for my 1070 remote...that would manage a DTB-H260F (Samsung)
ATSC tuner....
I tried the unknown code thingy...but to no avail....I don,t even know under which component to look for it...is it TV,CBL or SAT...
the sad part...is....the tuner was a gift...but came with no remote...I ordered a replacement...but in the meantime...
I'll just let it collect dust...unless...someone here can help....

I've been trying to send a request to the Outlaws about this...but all I get from the site ...is a "sensitive case error" trying to log in...
is something up with that ?

Here's the instructions from the manual.

Setting Up the Samsung remote:

1. Turn off your device.
2. Press the appropiate device button on the Samsung remote (eg, VCR, CBL, DVD, STB etc).
3. Press the SET button on the Samsung remote.
4. Find the appropiate setup code in the manual for your brand of VCR, CBL, etc.
5. Using the number buttons, enter three digit setup code. Make sure you enter three digits of the code, even if the first digit is a '0'. (If more than one code is listed, try the first one.)
6. Press the POWER button on the remote control. Your device should turn on if your remote is
set up correctly. If your device does not turn on after set-up, repeat steps 2, 3 and 4, but try one of the other codes listed for your brand of device. If no other codes are listed, try each code. For VCR's try 000 through 080. For CBL boxes, try 000 thru 046. For DVD players, try 000 through 141. For STBs, try 000 through 074.

Note: the volume buttons will ALWAYS work the TV.

It's the Outlaw remote I'm trying to set up...to ultimately control my samsung DTB-H260F...
I'm still waiting for the replacement remote....in the meantime I'm exploring the JP1 thing(hotwiring of the Outlaw remote to PC)...
I have seen codes for the samsung...but for those aftermarket remotes like HTMs, logitechs and prontos....
that option is becoming more and more appealing...
but I think I'll wait for that remote to come and see from there if the tuner is worth the trouble...

In that listing were codes for Samsung products. Have you tried the codes listed in your Outlaw remote? The codes don't change depending on which remote you use. If you have an Outlaw remote or a Samsung remote it should send the same code to the piece of equipment you are trying to operate. There are some pieces of equipment that use 4 digits, rather than three, or perhaps it is that there are some remotes that send 4 digits, rather than 3. But my understanding is that the extra digit is either a leading or trailing 0.

The codes will be based on the database being used by the universal remote. The 1070 is using the UEI code database, specifically their four-digit database (I think they have an older three-digit database, but it doesn't necessarily share codes with the four-digit database). What Laventura might be able to do is look for another UEI remote using the four-digit code library and see what Samsung codes it offers.

and to add to this thread..what's the code for the 1070 so that I can simply control VOLUME with the remote from my Direct TV HD-DVR that I just hooked up????

The DirecTV remote almost certainly does not include a code for Outlaw's electronics. Sorry...
