What cable (and connectors) should I use to relay the remote control commands via IR out from my Outlaw to a concealed component?
Any advice as to where I coluld find such a cable?
Thank you very much

That will depend on the IR distribution system you are using (if you have one) and the device being controlled. For the Xantech gear that I use, the exact same mono 1/8" mini-plug cables that are recommended for use with the 1070's trigger output would work for the IR input (which can be had at Radio Shack for a few dollars). If I didn't have that Xantech system, though, I could use a mono cable to connect the 1070's IR output to the input of my OPPO HM-31 switch to control the switch. I might even be able to use a Xantech emitter with the 1070's IR output, although I never tried that when I had a 950 (which had IR input/output like the 1070). That connection would not work with some devices with IR inputs, though: both the 990 and my Pace Micro and Scientific Atlanta cable boxes require an interface module to accept a signal like this.

Thank you, Gonk.
All I want is to connect my Outlaw to the Comcast Motorola cable box, which I want to push out of my rack. The cablebox has an IR jack, which looks pretty much 1/8". I do hope it's a IR input or input/output, and not an IR output only jack.
I've oredered a 3.5mm plug to plug STEREO cable from Monoprice.
I think (and hope) that the fact that it's stereo won't be an issue, just an "overkill".
At less than $2 not much to lose even is I was wrong ;-)

Gonk, not surprisingly you're correct. With a mono cable things changed and Motorola cable box was able to control the Outlaw, but not vice-versa.
When connecting IR out of 1070 to the one and only IR jack of the cable box, things don't work.
Looks like that jack is IR OUT only, although It's labeled simply IR.
What could I do?
I definitely need to push that Motorola out of my rack where the remote cannot "see" it...
I'm waiting on a live chat with Comcast, but I suspect I'll grow a respectable beard until I'll get an answer...

Gonk, Motorola web site and a brief manual in pdf format downloaded from there states exactly what you said about the IR jack: "Enables you to control VCR while recording selected program (Not supported by all program guides)".
Granted, the only way to push it out of my rack would be to stick a " IR flasher" on its face.
Thank you.

Do you think that the "Direct Connect - IRE1 - Single Emitter IR Flasher" found here , second on the page, would work directly by just plugging it into 1070's IR out jack, without any power supply of its own?

Probably not, I believe a repeater is needed...

Guess I was correct the first time. 1070's manual states that the IR out could be used for an infrared flasher, thus as long as I don't need a hub, a simple flasher should do.
