Hi all, My Sony DVD player (1080i upscale) is hooked up to 1070 receiver via optical line and HDTV via HDMI directly. Occassionally when I turn on both DVD player and 1070 reciever to watch a movie. My DVD player runs fine and I can see movie on my HDTV. My 1070 turns on but non-responsive. It's kind of freeze. I have to turn off and on one or two times and it works again. Anyone knows why and how to fix it. I already have a latest firmware. Auto polling is set at off.
Thanks, Think Green

This has happened to me recently on a couple of occasions. It first happened after I installed the most recent firmware, but I have no way of knowing whether the two events are related. I also recently got a URC MX-850 remote, and the first time I had a freeze was after I started using it. I suspect that the problem is a timing issue related to turning on the 1070 and a digital source at the same time, but I have not had time to try using delays in the turn-on sequence to see if that fixes the problem. In addition, it happens infrequently, not every time I turn on a digital source and the 1070, so it's hard to pinpoint the problem.

My 1070 starts with no sound 18 out of 20 times and 9 out of 10 is frozen, excepting no other command but "power off".
It does this even when I start it on its own tuner, let alone exterior digital sources.
I have to turn it off and on at least once in order for it to start properly. Some times it requires 3-4 off/on cycles in order to start.
The solution is to get used to it.
Turning on the 1070 is like starting an engine in the thick of the winter after the car was out for a few days. It takes a few attempts, but it finally starts and when you hear it purring everything seems OK until next start...

My 970 has the same problem and I don't expect any firmware fix by Outlaw. My solution is to program my programmable remote control automatically reset the 970 power during power on sequence.
