Is there no sound?

I think the 3/2.1 is how it shows that it is in 5.1 mode, so that is ok.

If you aren't getting sound double check which input you are using and then check the setup to make sure it is assigned right.

Sometimes when switching between devices I have had to choose a different sound mode like stereo and then go back to Dolby Digital for it to work.

curriergroh is correct. The indication of "3/2.1" means that the input signal is three discrete front channels (L/C/R), two discrete surrounds (SR/SL) and an LFE channel, which is the ".1". Add 'em up and you get "5.1".

An additional note, if you're not that familiar with surround. Even though the incoming data stream may have the 5.1 channel configuration, you won't hear something from all channels, all the time. This is normal, as the mixers distribute sound to the channels as the on-screen action dictates.

The best way to make certain that the connections to your speakers are correct is to run the 1070's test tone. To make certain that the decoding is working properly, use a test disc such as Video Essentials or Avia.

If you are running a 5.1 speaker system, are your rear channels plugged into the "surround back" or "surround" position? If they are plugged into the surround back terminals, you will need to move them to the surround position. The surround back channels are the additional speakers in a 6.1/7.1 surround setup.

If those does not solve your issue, please give the support line (866-OUTLAWS) a call.

Best,

Scott
