The 1070 lacks a second zone, so while you
can set something up (and we can probably come up with a few different scenarios if you're interested) it is going to include a compromise or two.
Here's just one possible idea to start the ball rolling... I assume that you aren't presently planning to use a separate amp for the two sets of remote speakers, right? I ask because you
could use something simple like a Sonic Impact
T-Amp ($30 plus an AC adapter) to drive those speakers - at which point you could use the pre-amp output or the tape record output of the 1070 to drive those bedroom/bathroom speakers. If the speakers are 8-ohm loads, you could wire them in parallel and the amp would see a 4-ohm load. I'd be curious to know if any 1070 or 970 owners know if the tape record outputs remain active when the unit is muted, because if they do then this scheme could work fairly gracefully simply by muting the 1070 when you want to use the bedroom/bathroom speakers and turning the T-Amp off when you don't want those remote speakers on. Can anybody comment on that?
Whether to get a 2807 or stay with the 1070 is going to be a personal choice of sorts - probably a decision on whether the sound quality (which reports seem to indicate is better with the 1070) is worth the tricks you'll need to use to drive those bedroom/bathroom speakers.
