I have my cable box hooked up through the optical 1 input and my dvd player into the optical 2 input. I can not find a way to switch from optical 1 to optical 2. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you for any info.

I should add that I am using hdmi to go from both the cable box and the dvd player directly to the television and then using the receiver for audio only. I have optical cables from both devices connected to the receiver, but can not figure out how to switch between the two devices.

In the 1070's setup menu, you can assign any digital input to any source. For example, in your case I'd suggest configuring the DVD input to use optical2 and the Video1 input to use optical1. You then select DVD or Video1 depending on which source you want to use.

You are most interested in the first line of the input configuration screen (AUDIO: ______), which can be set to "ANALOG" for that input's stereo analog connection or to any of the eight digital audio inputs on the 1070. Outlaw has always made an effort to provide good manuals, and this section will get you squared away in no time.
