The 2807 offers a few features that the 1070 lacks, since it's a newer design. Denon's larger R&D depth lets them roll out new models every year and push new tech into their products ahead of everybody else. The 2807's HDMI inputs are v1.1 compatible, and there are a few extra bells and whistles (built-in XM tuner).

As Lizard King points out, though, the 1070 is built with a somewhat different philosophy. It'll spend probably three years on the market, so when it first arrived about 18 months ago it had a very competitive feature set. Outlaw knows that by the time it's ready to be discontinued (which I suspect will happen some time in 2008, probably past mid-year, but that's just a SWAG) there will be lots of competitors like the 2807 that offer more features. The 1070 will still be competitive even then because of some things that won't change: sound quality, build quality, and customer support. The amp section is conservatively rated at 65W, just like it's predecessor the Model 1050 (which still sells for more than $300 on the used market due in large part to that amp section, even though it sold for $500 when it was discontinued in 2003). The unit is solidly built, and you can count on support both directly from Outlaw and from the crowd around here for the life of the unit.
