I am looking at a center channel speaker that is 6 ohm's. all my other speakers are 8 ohm's. is this something i can do?

That'll be fine. The center channel amp will see a somewhat different load than the other channels, but it's nothing that the amp is going to have a problem with. (There was a note back in the Model 1050's manual that specifically said that the "8 ohm" setting on the receiver's 4/8 ohm switch was the appropriate setting for both 8 ohm and 6 ohm speakers.)

Thanks Gonk. My center channel should be here today, I can finally listen to surround sound! Well minus the sub, still looking.
