As I now I close to moving to my new apt., I wnat to ask you how you feel about the 1070's SQ? The more I learn about the, I am thinking of getting one. Of course you must feed into the unit, a quality recording on CD/DVD and used a good sounding player. How does the FM stereo sound when you have good signal? How good does the receiver sound over all?

Hi again lizardking, imho Like I told you before the 1070 sounds great... Fm sound is as good as fm can get... analog sounds great from my turntable... and digital kicks ass with my pc, HDTV receiver and dvd player... altough signal aquisition in the digital domain (HDTV receiver channel surfing) does have the very occasional hard time locking on...(switching source back and forth fixes it)... Overall ...I enjoy it totally and love it even more than the last time I told you this... on top of that.... It LOOKS good...

Turntable? I brought a 1070 several months ago with dreams of putting my turntable back into commission. Once I received the 1070, I realized it didn't have any inputs for a turntable, so I thought... So exactly how is your turntable connected?

Thanks, gonk.... Didn't think phono pre-amps were readily available anymore. I will check with my local Hi Fi dealer....
Back to Lizard's original question, on SQ. I think the SQ is GREAT!!! I had an Adcom GFA 555 amp with a Yamaha pre-amp, which I loved. This is the first "receiver" I've owned since 1979 (once you go separates, you can't go back!). I must say, that I've throughly enjoyed the 1070 SQ. Although I wished it had more power, not that i want to play it at incredible loud levels, but I think with the additional headroom the SQ is cleaner at normal listening levels.....
I will say as far as video processing is concern, the unit has been a disappointment. Fortunately, my TV has enough inputs so I feed my video signal directly to the TV.
Oh well, that's my two cents...
