What do you think is better? Front firing, down firing, or side firing subwoofers?

I don't see any real difference.. Most of the new powered subs are either front or side firing anyways...

I went to www.svsubwoofers.com, and I like what I see. That might be something to check out.. I may passup the Velodyne forone of these.. Right now I'm thinking of oneof the passives, because I have an audiosource amp1/a poweramp brand new sealed, that i bought a while back but havent used.. It can be bridged to 200watts mono, pe5rfect for the sub.. check it out it maybe something to look into..

For my 2 cents on Velodyne, not bad, but if I had it all to do over again, I'd probably seriously consider something else. A buddy of mine got an M&K, which I was totally amazed by. It is small, but so much more bassy rather than boomy. I like much of Paradigm's stuff that I'd give them a listen.

Another thing I noticed with my CT-150's (there are two) is that to set them with the correct SPL, one's volume is set at 8 and the other 5. Pretty surprising, as I thought there would only be a slight difference between the settings. . .

But that's my thought. I'm still happy with them, but think I could be happier with something else and not out much more money.

I can't see myself living without my SVS sub. I know that is a bold statement but it has added so much to my movie and music enjoyment that I truly love it. Now would I say the same thing about another sub If had not gotten this one? I don't know, but I wouldn't hesitate to plop down $800 again. I would have been curious to try the different models out at home to see which one I liked best but....When I looked at them I figured bigger must be better so I bought the 16-46. I have heard that the smaller ones don't go as low but have more volume. Also for anyone with a good sub checkout their website for the bass demos some of them are very neat. http://www.svsubwoofers.com/faqs.htm

p.s. Yes 16hz shakes the living you know what right out of you.
