I don't have a 1070, so I'm speaking from a bit of looking at the manual and from past experience with my old Model 950 (since the 1070 borrowed a lot of interface behavior from the 950). You may have done both of these already, but I would first make sure the remote had a clear shot at the 1070's IR sensor and would probably try holding the button down until something started to happen (even if that ends up being four seconds). Beyond that, I'm not sure - but somebody who actually owns a 1070 or 970 may have some useful insight. smile
