I'm planning to upgrade to the 1070 and have older ADS speakers (that still sound great). I have three questions:
1. My front speakers are rated at 6 Ohms nominal 4 Ohms minimum. My center, surrounds and rear center are rated at 4 Ohms nominal. Should I set the impedance switch to 4 Ohms?
2. Is there degradation in the sound when the switch is set to 4 Ohms as is suggested in the "Impedance Selector Switches" paragraph located at the bottom of this page (and is there any truth to what this guy is describing? Especially in relation to the 1070?):
http://www.audioholics.com/techtips/buyingguides/avhardware/receivers.php#bass_management 3. If there is some degradation in the sound, and I leave the switch on 8 Ohms will that damage or burn out the receiver under moderate volumes?
Thanks,
- Brian
