Hello everyone,

my surround amp is connected to the 990 via XLR cables. I found a nice sub, but it uses only a single ended input. Is it possible to use in my configuration or am I better off driving a sub with an xlr input or does it matter at all?

thanks,

John

You can connect the sub via RCA just fine - it's actually a very common configuration. (I even run my rear surrounds via RCA to a pair of Model 200 amps while running XLR to my Model 7500 for the other five channels.) When you calibrate the sub relative to the rest of the system, it will bring all the levels into line with each other even though the XLR output is about 3dB higher.
