Not sure if anyone can help with this. I recently noticed a change in the audio performance of my system particially in the center and surrounds, the sound seems as almost its in compression mode but it's not. I have the 990 and the7500 and love them both. Could this be the power coming into my home that's causing the problem? this is frusturating if anyone has any advice please help. Thanks/

what source are you using when this happens? Does it persist if you change sources? I would doubt the power coming to your house is the problem unless you have recently had some damage somewhere. Lightning can wreak havoc with your system if it is not well protected.

It seems to be mostly with movies, can it be my dvd player? It did't start happening until I hooked up my system with an hdmi cable. Im running the hdmi straight to my tv, I've done nothing else different. I have the Pioneer elite dv79avi player. Thanks.

How do you have audio connected to the Model 990? Also, have you turned on Night Mode by chance?

No night modes not on, however I have the 990 hooked up coax and opti, Dts sounds insane and Dd sounds weak.

I have had those channels go three db down on a number of occasions. I posted about it but nobody else had experienced it. I just check the calibration every once in awhile.
