As a long time Adcom owner, and a couple of bad experiences with Adcom pre/pros, I recently bought an Outlaw. I am thrilled with my system again. The Outlaw seems very transparent, yet at the same time is extremely powerful in terms of what it does. "Feature rich" I think would be fair to say.

While I haven't read every post, I do seem to notice a fair number of other Adcom owners here. My first piece of Adcom was acquired in 1987. I'm shocked to see that in print. 22 years? Anyway, love 'em, don't know what I'd do without 'em.

Just installed a brand new Sony LCD, 52" XBR-7. Sweet. Haven't upgraded to HD on Dish yet, but I'll get to that soon. Meanwhile, I'm blown away by all the sound content I've been missing on even regular TV.

I look forward to hearing from other Adcom owners, or anyone else, for that matter.

I feel your pain. I too suffered with an Adcom before becoming an Outlaw.

I hope your as happy as I was with the change from Adcom to my 990. I owned two Adcom pre/pros. Took there exchange deal when my first one died. When the second one starting having issues with digital processing I knew it was time to move on. My 990 has been in my rack longer than both the Adcoms. Outlaw is great to deal with, and 4 years later, my only complaint is that the 990 is a lot cheaper today than it was 4 years ago. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine.

I glad to see Adcom is on it's last breath . I never forget the lousy customer service rep when I ask why my pre/tuner was made in China . The attitude was strong and wrong . That's was 15 to 20 years ago before China was a major player .Now I am an Outlaw with a large and growing family bringing up the front and rear . Bye Bye Adcom you did it to yourself

Sorry to hear Adcom is on it's (sic) last breath. My GTP-500 TPA served me well until I got the 990 and my GFA-535 (smallest Adcom amp at its time and still considered one of the best sounding) was working fine until I got my two nOrh monoblocks back after servicing and may yet work again in surround duty. My relation to them was good. I still wish the 990 had the GTP-500's ability to listen to one source while recording from another, but I don't know of any digital TPA that can do that. Alas.
