I'm looking for remote codes for the 990. I don't have any listed for it in my Hitachi manual or me Direct TV manual. Can you give me some that will work. Thank you much for the help.

Remotes that are provided with other products such as TV's and cable or satellite boxes rarely provide codes for smaller manufacturers. This is true for Outlaw, OPPO Digital, Rotel, Anthem, and any number of other companies that end up being left out of the code libraries used in such remotes. You may be better off trying to program the Hitachi and DirecTV devices into the 990's remote, I'm afraid.

Thanks for the reply Gonk. Okay with the suggestion to program the TV an Sat box into the Outlaw remote. There is a code for the Hitachi but I can't find one for the Sat box. It's a Direct TV receiver, model H21-200. An Outlaw code for this box top would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your help.

The 990's remote is manufactured by UEI, and as such it uses the same code library as remotes sold under the One-For-All (OFA) and Radio Shack brands. I found this old thread at Remote Central suggesting code 1377, which may or may not already be loaded into the 990's remote.

Well after searching for the code I've given up. I can't for the life of me figure out why a large company like DirecTV doesn't have any remote codes in the 990 user manual. That doesn't make any sense at all. It would seem to me Outlaw would ensure that the DirecTV codes were there for their customers instead of suggesting buying a universal. I might understand this if DirecTV was some obscure little company that no one knew about. Very disappointing indeed. Someone at Outlaw should wake up UEI and get them to post the DirecTV codes. Otherwise why have a SAT button on your remote when you don't code for the #1 Satellite company in the country? If any codes turn up, let me know please. I've been searching for about a month. The 1377 code doesn't work. Thanks for trying anyway Gonk.

One solution would be to buy a Harmony One remote from logitech. I use mine to control all of my remote equipment inclusing Directv HD receivers and my 990. They have a bank of something like 30000 codes available, and the website to update my remote doesn't even blink when I put in my equipment. It is very easy to do and well worth the effort to make everyone in the house able to operate the equipment without having to call you at work or wake you up.
