Another option (admittedly not as optimal as getting the 990's DVI switching to work with the components you have) is an HDMI switch. I used an OPPO HM-31 in conjunction with my 990 for quite a while to augment the DVI switching, but it could also work separately from the DVI switching...

No matter what I did, my projector and 990's DVI is not cooperating each other. So after looking over several switchers last several days, I decided to use the switcher and keep the 990 for little longer. I am still very satisfied with 990's sound and the HD audio processing options are handled by my Sony S550 for now.

Who knows when the 997 will arrive but when it does, I will look into whether it is time for me to upgrade or not.
