I'm a proud owner of a new Outlaw 990.

My first question for the forum relates to the remote...it won't turn the system on!

It works fine otherwise, including turning the system off, and yes, I am pressing TNR prior to the power button.

The 990's POWER button is a discrete power "off" command; the input commands all act as discrete power "on" commands. Press TNR and then select the source that you want to listen to / watch, and the 990 will turn on automatically.

Don't be embarrased..I had the exact same reaction when I tried to turn my 990 on for the first time with the power button on the remote. That's kind of the intuitive thing to try. It's just not the way the 990 remote works.

BTW..how are you liking your 990? How does it compare with what it replaced and what equipment do you have it working with?

I replaced my RR2150 with the 990 paired with the 7500 because I finally opted to go multi-channel. The 2150 is a GREAT sounding amp, but the 7500 is pretty insane with 7.1, my older Theil 1.5s and some existing (in the house) built-in Polk Audio speakers.
