Hey all,

Upgraded firmware on 990 to 3.24, all went very well. I then shut down my entire system to redo all the cables, went to HDMI on just about eveything, installed a Marantz VS3002 6 X 2 switcher and today at lucnh, started everyting back up.

Turned on my 990 with all the other gear and set the audio and video names, speaker size, crossovers etc. More then a few times it seemed the remote was not responding, then it would start again, like it didn't bring up the menu when I hit the button a few times, then it came up.

Then I noticed each time I would hit a input on the remote, say video 1, the right name would come up, say cable, then the display would disapear. I would hit video 2, name would come up, then gone.

Didn't have anymore time to play around but I do not remember my 990 ever doing this. It would alwasy display the name.

Help!!!

Thanks again.

Hey again,

Just had a few minutes to play around with it and here is what is happening. Everything seems to be working as found as sound and video, but...The front of the 990's display is blank. If I change inputs, then it will show the input for a second then go blank again. I turn on the tuner, I switch stations, shows me the station I switched to for a second, then blank again.

Read the manual again, do not see anything. This only started happeneing after the firmware update I did 2 days ago or so.

Thanks again all for the help!!!!!!

Mine behaved a bit strangely after the firmware update as well. I believe I got it back to normal by doing a hard reset.

Also, is this a new firmware update? I recall updating mine quite a long time ago, but maybe I'm just going senile.

Edit: Just checked...mine is at v3.11 so I guess this is the 2nd update. smile

Best,

After some more playing around I found a setting in the menu that lets you set how long the display will stay on after you change an input. It was set on a few secnds, switched it to on and all good.

This update was released back in May of 2008 I think but I didn't have the energy to pull out the 990 and do it. Now I was installing all new cables and an HDMI switcher so while I had it out, did the update. It's v3.24

Thanks.
