I set the front speakers (Sonus Faber Grand Pianos) to small and it helped a bit. I have the xovers set at 40. I will play with this setting tomorrow. Thanks for the help

I would set the xover to 80 hz and see how you like it. Your mains are really only rated down to 40 HZ so why stress them at their limits.

Definitely change the crossover to at least 60. That's what I run on my fronts (SVS MTS-01's)

Sometimes it's the obvious that we overlook, have you tried reversing the phase on the sub ?

Just to address what I think was the original question, I can't imagine that a change in processor or receiver would have much of an affect on the impact of a sub. Provided that both preamps were providing a clean dynamic signal (which the 990 does) any changes that you've noted would be due entirely to the room change and placement. If everything else has remained the same..i.e source, amplifiers, speakers, cables, power, etc. This should be as easy as finding the best location for the sub in that room, setting proper phase and delay, and checking the levels with your own spl meter (I found that my 990 is sometimes a bit off with auto set up). Some rooms are easy to get this right...some are not. If you feel like you have less impact in the new room you may have a response dip in the 50-60hz range.. i notice drops in this area take away from kick drum power and the like. If this is the case....you just have to experiment to find the right spot. A tool that can help with this is the Velodyne SMS-1, assuming that you don't already have a Velodyne digital drive sub.
