After a year with my 990 I finally decided to run the auto setup. So it gets done and I save it. I then go to watch Black Hawk Down on BD and I notice that the lip sync is off and no matter how much I adjust it I cannot get it right again. So I move on to 2001 and the same thing. I then go back in to my setup menu and remove the distances that it calculated and everything is fine once again. So what gives? Is this normal?

Based on your description, it appears that the Auto Setup routine was unable to accurately determine the subwoofer distance. You can confirm this by going into the Model 990's channel calibration menu. There, you will want to observe the delay setting for your subwoofer. Instead of a numerical distance, I'm guessing it may have "letters" instead of an actual distance.

If so, change this to the actual subwoofer distance. This will resolve your current lip sync delay issue.

Thanks again Scott. Went home last night and after trying to update to the new FW (unsuccessfully I might add) I played around with auto setup and everything went great, No delay in the lip sync. Thanks again!

Whiskey, don't give up on the FW update. It will be quite noticeable in the control of the low end.
