Not sure this is the correct posting area or not. I have a 990 (eagerly waiting on the 997)w a Sunfire Signature 5-Channel Amp (400w) powering Vienna Beethoven tower speakers and matching center and four surrounds. I then use a Sherwood 8080 5-channel amp(120w x's 5) for the two rears. Question is I want to get a new amp for rears (8080) runs hot and has no auto on. The Sunfire is too good to toss and replace with 7-channel version. What would you think about Outlaw MonoBlocks x's 2 or one of the other outlaw amps for rears. Plus how important is amp for the rear surrounds in a 7-channel set up. Outlaw is running a 20% gift card on purchase which i could then towards the new processor? I have also thougt of a 3-channel (?) for front three speakers. Thoughts.

I use a Behringer A500 2 channel amp for Zone 2 and think is does a great job. It is relatively inexpensive (less than $200) and think it would work fine for the rears.

I've got a pair of older Outlaw monoblocks (the Model 200) to help with surrounds. They're a great solution. I don't really need 200W to drive Axiom M3ti's any more than I need 200W from the 7500 to drive the Paradigm Studio ADP's, but it does the trick nicely and the pair of them actually take up the same space as the two-channel Parasound amp that they replaced.
