Hi all, I have this processor connected between an older Technic receiver pre-amp output and an older yamaha amp M80 that I'm using in my library. I'm thinking of hooking this up to my 990 in my home theater basement. I want to listen to all my analog sources with this processor in the loop.
The recommended connection is from the pre-amp out to the input on the Carver C-9 then out to the amp. Currently, I am using the balanced outputs of the 990 to the balanced inputs of M7500 amp so I don't want to break that connection using the rca pre-outs.
Has anyone connected an outboard processor like the Carver with the 990?
I truly enjoy the sonic holographic effect of the C-9 in my library when listening to stereo recordings as it gives me a wider soundstage and sound imaging.
I could try putting this in between my cd player and the 990 but then I won't be able to use my cd changer connected to the aux analog input without having to resort to another analog switch.
Any suggestions or recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

I'd be leery of putting it between the processor and amp because I worry about what it will do to the left and right channels in a surround mode. If it can't be turned off, that's probably a good reason to look at putting it between a source and the 990. How do you have your CD player(s) connected currently?

Last night I hooked up the Pioneer CD changer into the C-9 input and then C-9 output to the 990 aux in. The C-9 can be set to bypass or engage the processor. WOW!!! the imaging and wider soundstage is AMAZING. Using only the front and left channels, I can hear the sound enveloping around the back as if my surround channels are active.
One thing I noticed though is that I seem to get much volume in output when engaged than bypass mode. I haven't noticed any distortion at all at -10 volume setting... and that is pretty loud.
Now, I wish I can have this in the loop for all the analog sources I have connected to the 990.
