been trying to get my OSD menu to work through the S video cable. was working fine, but hasn't been since. shut the power off the back of the 990 but same problem still. just an random glitch or something i'm doing wrong?

The 990 setup menu should be visible via the s-video monitor output no matter how the 990 is set up. Have you made sure the s-video cable is connected to the 990's monitor out (not zone 2 or video 1 record) and the display is set to the associated input?
