My remote no longer controls the 990. I have replaced the batteries and cycled the 990 on and off-no luck. Any suggestions? TIA, Brian

So even by pushing the "TNR" button, the remote doesn't control the 990? Does it control any other devices? Is it possible that the "TNR" device got re-programmed?

If all else fails, give Outlaw a call.

Correct, after pushing "TNR" the remote does not control the 990. Yes, the remote still operates the tv, dvd player and satellite. With 4 and 6 year old boys and a 4 month old newfoundland, it is possible that the "TNR" device got re-programmed. Brian

Give Outlaw a call - I don't know of a code to re-set the "TNR" button to 990 control, but if there is one they'll have it and if there isn't they'll be able to get it fixed.

Hi All,

I am experiencing the same issues with remote operation.Neither the main remote nor the zone 2 remote work my 990,although the main remote works other components.I tried a system reset, which solved the problem for half the time I needed to reset system settings, after which the 990 stoppped responding to the remotes.A second system reset didn't produce any result for any length of time.I then reloaded the firmware update, but no joy.Does anybody think this may be caused by the firmware update,as there is absolutely no history of this problem before the update, and two instances after? Is it possible to go back to the old firmware?
I tried online tech support, where Edward has tried to get me up and running with no result, through no fault or lack of effort on his part.I have been issued an RMA,but I really don't want to disconnect everything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike confused

If neither remote works at all, I'd suspect the IR sensor. If you are using an IR repeated system, I'd check that first (the 990 needs an interface module for some systems, and in some cases an IR flasher combined with good line-of-sight from remote to IR sensor can create a confusing "double signal). Of course, this is all territory that Edward may have led you through, and if that turned up nothing it may be an internal hardware issue (loose connection, bad sensor, or the like) that can only be fixed via RMA.

I shipped my 990 to The Outlaws on Wed,July 16.They had it by Thursday July 17.I have a Fedex Tracking Number for return delivery to me scheduled for Thursday,July 24!Nobody likes it when stuff breaks, but this service makes it much more tolerable! My thanks to all at Outlaw, who have turned an almost regretful new customer into a believer.

Glad to hear that it went as painlessly as possible (all things considered). Hopefully your returned 990 is happily purring away now (and obeying your commands via IR)...
