As for special procedures for turning it back on, there really aren't any. The "SELECT" and "MENU" button combination on the front panel is a system reset, which is called for after installing the firmware, but it's not actually part of turning the unit on.

Loosely related to the rest process, pressing "SELECT" and "INPUT" on the front panel at the same time while the unit is in standby displays the version number on the front panel display.
I am pretty sure the update instructions specifically state that you are suppose to do do the reset (by pressing enter and menu simultaneously after setting the OPR/SVC switch back to OPR, and before turning the unit on. I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure it says to do this....
