Greetings everyone!

I'm seeing these LCD picture frames advertised in the local flyers, regularly, now. The smaller size is about $70.

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried to use one of these as a means of displaying the 990's menu options? In my case, I have a 50" display and use it for the 990's menu, but hate having to turn it on and off, in short bursts, not to mention that it makes it all more complicated. With one of these picture frames, it would solve these problems, if it's viable.

Any and all info appreciated.

thanks,

John

The LCD picture frames that my wife and I have at work lack AV inputs, so they wouldn't work for this. I found one LCD frame that had a video input, but it's larger and more expensive than most ( 12" screen, $230 ). There may be others with an AV input for less, but it'll take some hunting to find one.

Thanks, Gonk.

I'll wait until one drops into my lap, meaning, it's looking like the setup will remain the same. Too bad, it would have made an ideal setup.

Here is what I would use. It runs on 12 volt but you can get an adapter at Radio shack for it

That's kind of a slick idea - could even work for a display on the 980H in my two-channel system ...

I got one of these things at Costco for about $40. It has a video input and works pretty well for this purpose... not perfect, but a great deal for this price.

Target also used to sell a 7" color TFT flat monitor for about $70.00 with dual video inputs & power supply...

FYI: I came across a link to the Sonic Impact video player this morning on Woot for $35 shipped.
