Hi Folks,

The other night I did a software update on my 2 year old 990. I have never previously updated the software so I figured the holidays would be a good time. After the software was updated, I had a pretty bad audio lag. I hooked up the Outlaw microphone to the 990 and ran the auto calibration and it did not correct the problem.

Previously for the past 2 years everything has been fine and now once I update, the audio is now off sync. The audio is about 1 second behind the video. I tried different sources to make sure it wasn't the source and everything has the same delay.

I run my video separately through a Lumagen HDQ.

I did a search in the forums and didn't come up with an answer, I also called tech support a few times today with no answer or call back (holiday vacation possibly?)

Thank you for any help in advance.

Ruben

Did you get a call back from Outlaw support? Where they able to work through the problem?

I've not updated to the new software but I don't recall, as you noted, reading any threads on the sync being off after updating. Does the Lumagen auto sync like like some of the DVDO models? I'd start by taking the Lumagen out of the video path to see if that changes anything. Just a thought...

Also, I enjoyed reading your AVS thread about your HT construction. It was great fun to see your progress and craftsmanship and dream of someday having a dedicated room for my own theater.

You might try performing a system reset of the 990. This will wipe out all the settings so you can start over from scratch. You may want to try calibrating it manually instead of using the auto calibration.

I see there has been no new activity on this topic so I will join you with having the same problem. My audio lags behind the video (cable and dvd), and I too cannot find any information on it. Have you had any luck with a fix?
I had my 990/7500 for over a year and it just now started. What's interesting though, is it only does it when using surround modes, but doesn't when in stereo. Looking for suggestions too.

Hello Folks,

Check the subwoofer delay setting. From time to time room anomalies confuse the auto setup and a non-numeric value is inserted for the subwoofer distance instead of the actual measurement. The result of this is an audio signal that lags behind the video.

To correct this, take the actual distance measurement of your subwoofer to the listening position and enter it in the delay menu.

Best,

Scott
