I have a PS2 that I want to hhok up to the 990 with component cables to get pregogressive scan video.

However, the only audio inputs associated with the PS2 are 2 channel analog outputs.

How can I tell the 990 to output the video from componenet (which I have done) and select an audio "path" to hear the PS2 from my main speakers?

I use my PS2 connected to the 1070's Optical 2 input using the outlaw Audio PDO cable. The Ps2 does not output true DD 5.1 so you wil get Dolby PlIIx-C.

I use Component Cables that are from Sony for the Ps3 to conenct the Ps2 to my HDTV; 3 for video, two for audio. I got that at Best buy FYI.

The PS2 should have an optical output, I think, but if you don't use optical and just use the analog it's easy enough to do. Connect the analog audio to any video input's audio connections (the left/right for Video1, 2, 3, or 4 on the rear panel - I'll use Video3 for my example, since odds are that you have it free right now) and the component to any free component input (I'll use Component-Video2). Then go into the setup menu and go to that input's settings (Video3, for this example). Set "Audio" to "Analog" and "Video" to "Comp-Vid2". If you use optical instead of analog, just change "Analog" to whichever optical input you use.

The PS2 does have a Toslink optical output. It's got its own connector on the back of the console. It isn't integrated into the cable bundle like it is on the xbox or xbox 360.

Also, I will use Gonks advice on hooking up the analog audio inputs, as I am using all of my optical inputs, now that I got a PS3 for Xmas!

I think I have an extra PS2 component cable around if you'd like, gratis. The PS2 does have toslink digital output (at least mine does)
