Thanks for your response. Yes, the Outlaw 990 is MIA from the list of setup codes in the manual for the Dish remote.

Since you'd mentioned the Sherwood P-965 codes in another post (re: setting up a third-party remote for use with a 990), I had hopes that one one of the Sherwood amp setup codes known to the Dish remote would work, but no joy.

I suppose I'll have to try the scanning approach. I suspect it will be a waste of time, but a worthwhile exercise in patience. ;-)
