Has anyone found a Setup Code that will enable the remote control that comes with the Dish Network 311 receiver to control some minimal functions on the Outlaw 990?

I want to be able to turn the 990 on and off, mute it, and adjust its volume from the Dish Remote.

In this post , gonk suggested using the "Sherwood P-965 codes" so I tried all the Sherwood amp codes in the Dish 311 Remote's manual, but no joy.

I have the 990's remote controlling the Dish 311 receiver, but I find I spend more time with the Dish remote in my hands when channel surfing. ;-) The 990 replaced my venerable Sony TA-E1000ES Digital Soundfield preamp, which I was able to control with the Dish remote.

I know I can have the Dish remote search for a possible code, but that's sometimes a very long and tedious process. Hence, if someone knows a Setup Code I can program into the Dish 311's remote control that will allow me to do the minimal functions I've outlined above on the 990, I'd be grateful.

One of these days I'll get around to buying a Universal Remote, but I've got other irons in the fire at present!

I'm pretty sure that there are no codes for the Outlaw in the Dish remote - Outlaw is one of a number of companies who are generally absent from the common code libraries included on cable, satellite, and TV remotes. Sorry...

Thanks for your response. Yes, the Outlaw 990 is MIA from the list of setup codes in the manual for the Dish remote.

Since you'd mentioned the Sherwood P-965 codes in another post (re: setting up a third-party remote for use with a 990), I had hopes that one one of the Sherwood amp setup codes known to the Dish remote would work, but no joy.

I suppose I'll have to try the scanning approach. I suspect it will be a waste of time, but a worthwhile exercise in patience. ;-)
