Well, I got home tonight and opened up a brand new box for the Xbox 360, I picked up Rock Band. Went ahead and pulled everything out, set it all up and went to turn on the 990 and I got a quick blue LED and then back to standby. From fishing in the forums it sounds like I have a dead 990.

Of all the times for this to happen. The long weekend, got the new game for all the family to play and we're dead in the water. I'm assuming the soonest I can get a hold of Outlaw will be next Monday. Any ideas how long it usually takes to get your unit repaired?

What else have you tried? Like performing a reset from the front panel, or re-loading your firmware.

Wow! I'll show my age and say what a bummer.

I'll put you in my Thanksgiving prayers that it might be fixed with a reset.

Before calling it dead weight for the weekend, I'd suggest a couple things. First, check the rear panel OPR/SVC switch just to make sure it didn't get jostled to SVC while hooking the Xbox up. After that, I'd also re-iterate the suggestion of doing a reset.

Well I'm sure it's dead. I tried the system reset and it did the same thing. Powered on for a second and then back off, nothing on the display. As for the OPR/SVC switch, it was definitely in OPR. I actually hadn't hooked anything up to it as the Xbox was already there for quite a while. I also tried to switch it to SVC and reapply the firmware. It got as far as Erasing and then would go no further no matter how many times I tried it.

I'll have to talk with Customer Service on Monday.

my friend had a dead 990 too... and the Outlaws fixed and returned it within two weeks.

sorry your 990 will be down for a while. but they should be able to fix it.

I had the same trouble.Cust. service said to send it in. Got it back in good working order Oct. 25th after four weeks at Outlaw. The good thing? Outlaw did a firmware update while they were at it! Now I can rename the audio inputs!

Big thanks to the guys at Outlaw. I received my 990 back and working fine today!
