Hi, Daryl. Yes, it does have a short delay when going through channels. Not enough to bother me, but it is noticeable on my setup.

It does run hot, but I would not classify it as dangerously so. I think there is a recommended clearance for the receiver on the top and sides. I can check that if you'd like tonight.
