Does anybody have the remote code or codes to control a DirecTV H20 HD receiver with the Outlaw remote?

I offered a few suggestions here - ctpj may be able to offer some feedback on what he found, or you can give the codes mentioned there a shot.

Thanks Gonk. I tried those but to no avail. Would you or somebody else out there know if there are a series of codes that I could try in my Sony RM-AX4000 universal remote to control the 990? This remote has a learning function but for some reason it cannot learn from the Catalyst48 that Outlaw is using. Any suggestions?

Odd that it can't learn from the 990's remote. My old Sony RM-AV2100 was able to learn commands from my Model 1050's remote (which was also a Catalyst48), and a buddy with the RM-AV2100 learned similar commands from his Model 950's SL-9000 clone (which used many of the same commands).

I don't know of any Outlaw codes for the Sony remotes. My suspicion is that Sony probably doesn't have any Outlaw codes in their database - aside from the ability to do learning (at least in theory), they may not be interested in investing the effort to incorporate smaller manufacturers like Outlaw into their code library.

butchgo, I have yet to find the correct code. If/when I do, I will post here. Please do the same if you find one that works.

Will do. I messed around this weekend with a bunch of codes but nothing worked. I think part of the problem is there are a limited amount of codes in the 990 remote. A lot of the satellite receiver codes I found the Catalyst48 would not accept. I will keep trying but I think it is maybe time for a new universal remote!!

I also was not able to get a code for my Denon DVD 2200.
Outlaw has really dropped the ball when it comes to remote codes. The have 1, that's right ONE code for Denon DVD players. Yet I have accessed codes for 3 other dedicated remotes to control the Denon.
And the Denon isn't an obscure model, it was reviewed by Absolute Sound and Sound and Vision.

Pathetic!

I don't know that I'd blame Outlaw for this. They used a remote made by a company that maintains one of the largest code databases in the industry, and no other UEI remotes seem to have any additional codes for Denon. If Denon decided to change their remote codes and not give UEI a chance to update their database, that's hardly Outlaw's fault.

I would echo what gonk said. At least with regard to the 970 remote (does it use the same platform?), it had a pretty broad range of codes. The only component I could not seem to find a workable code for in my system was a Cambridge Audio CD player.

The 970 uses the exact same basic remote as the 990, although the labels on the two are different.

I had no problems with the codes for my Sony TV and DVD/SACD player it is just the DirecTV H20 that is a thorn in my side. I tried using the search method and that did not work but I do not blame Outlaw for this. If my Sony RM-AX4000 would just learn the codes from the Outlaw remote I'd be home free.

Purely highly speculative.
