Is it possible to get USB audio from a computer through the 990 out Zone 2? I have put together an extensive playlist for a get-together tomorrow night, and I foolishly didn't try to get this to work until now. I thought since my notebook is outputting in stereo, the 990 would play it through Zone 2, but so far, no luck. Any help?

I know Zone 2 requires an analog input. I've never used the USB input for the 990, but since it's not analog, I believe that's your problem.

The requirement of using an analog input for Zone 2 is a very common one. I've played with three or four preamps (all very nice) and all had this same requirement. I'm sure it's because of added design, parts and manufacturing cost for a feature that relatively few people use. There would be at least one more two channel DAC involved, as well as added digital circuitry.

Since the USB input is not a physical analog input on the 990, I do not believe that it is possible to use it with the second zone.
