Some of you may remember that my 990 was not working properly a few months ago. Well, I received the unit back, and it's been working fine ever since. However, I did have an issue that required a system reboot...not a huge deal, but it did cause a slight panic at first. After the reboot an interesting thing happened. I plugged the mic in to do the speaker setup, and it went through the normal routine without issue until it got to the subs. The test tone fired out of them like the dickens, and then some, but the 990 told me that there was no sub, and to go back and check the connections etc. So I ran the setup again...and again...and again...same result; tons of test tone with no recognition.

Now, I'm able to manually implement the subs in the menu and they work fine. I just thought it was interesting that the 990 didn't set up correctly.

Mine's the opposite. Using the mic and the auto calibration settings, my sub is 8dBs too low and is recognized.

It just so happens that I ran auto set up yesterday just for the heck of it.
The sub was recognized and the 990 set it @ 0 dB which is 5dB higher that I had it set it to manually.
The delay distance the 990 came up with was right on the money though.
A lot depends on the room accoustics I guess.
