I should be able to finish my system that has been on hold for several months due to medical reasons. I want to get my remaining 2200's, the 990 and a pair of Martin Logan Vantages to round out the system. Can't decide on blu-ray or hddvd but will probably go with hddvd. I'm just wondering if Outlaw is planning to revamp the 990 and should I wait until they do? I won't open the HDMI can of worms again because I'm too stupid to understand it and I can't even get my system to run through its existing Denon 7.1 receiver. God, I'm pathetic.

We've seen no official word on when we'll see a replacement for the Model 990. If I had to guess, it'd be somewhere in 2008, although when in the year it happens is harder to predict - at some point, I'd assume that both the 970 and 990 will be succeeded by HDMI-equipped products, but which will come first is a mystery. I don't know that I'd delay building my system for that if you're close to pulling the trigger.

As for HDMI (sorry in advance for the "unpleasant topic" thread-jack wink ), I've actually just posted an update to my HDMI FAQ , under the v1.3 portion, to cover some of the recent discussions on the subject.

Thanks for the reply Gonk, I hope you and your family are doing well. Should I be able to connect my TV and all my audio gear to my Denon 2105 7.1 AV receiver and use it to coordinate the allocation of my gear?

Your Denon has pre-amp outputs and component switching, so there should be no reason you can't keep using it for a while longer.
