I have finally gotten around to setting up a second zone. Searching past posts before starting this I saw that people stated that the Trigger 1 would go active when the second zone was turned on. While some people did not like this, I wanted that to happen so my amp would turn on. This is because I am using the two unused channels on my 7125 for zone 2. Just my luck, when turning on Zone 2 the 990 turns on the trigger for just a second or so and then it goes back off.

Does anyone have an idea what the deal is here?

Hmmm... Odd, as I just tried this (turned on zone 2 with the main zone on) and my trigger 1 dutifully tripped and the switched outlets on my PF60 came on 10 seconds later just like normal.

Do you have the main zone on when turning on Zone 2? I know If I have the main system on add Zone 2 and then turn off the main setup, Zone 2 is still active. I never tried to just turn on Zone 2 first.

I just realized that in my haste earlier, I mis-typed: when I turned zone 2 on, I had the main zone off. With that sequence, the trigger worked fine.

I assume that the trigger works fine with the main zone, and only exhibits this "flicker on" behavior when turning the second zone on with the main zone off? Do you know what firmware version you have installed?

On the firmware I need to check the number, but it is the first upgrade via USB version released by Outlaw that fixed the bass issues. I think there have been two firmare releases, correct?

My trigger works great when the 990 (main zone) is turned on. Trigger 2 works just fine as well to inputs it is assigned to.

I did try turning on the 990 (trigger on), then turn on zone 2 (trigger still on) and then turning off the 990. When I turned off the 990 with zone 2 still on, the dang trigger turned off again.

I am using the tape input for zone 2 but all inputs act the same with my 990.

The latest version is 3.11, which is identical to 3.10 except for a bug fix regarding setting subwoofer trim all the way to -15dB.

I'm not sure what might be going on. You might give Outlaw a call (or drop them a note online ) to pick their brain on this one.

I have installed none of the upgrades and Zone 2 alone works fine either with the main on or off. I was able to turn on Zone 2 without the main being on.

I'm a bit confused though, do you have trigger 1 running to the 7125?

I wonder if it has something to do with using the two "open" channels on the 7125 as a Zone 2 amp. I run a separate amp for my Zone 2.
