Would like to connect my computer to the 990.
It'll probably take 35 ft. of cable.
What I'm after is being able to play an internet radio station, "Pandora Radio " through the 990.
I have searched for USB cables, the longest is 16ft that I have found, but I have seen exstension cables also. Is it doable, without lossing anything ?
Oh yes, I have had the 990 for quit awhile now with no problems and still love it. Although my HK 635 was easeir to access menu's etc, after awhile it's no problem with the 990. The 990 is far and away the better sounding on music, although I do miss "Logic 7" for some 2 channel sources. The Bass Management of the 990 is the better trade off IMO.

Apparently, USB is similar to DVI and HDMI in that it has an upper limit on cable length - specifically 5 meters (or pretty close to 16 feet). Here is one link that I found , but there is also mention of booster or repeater devices that can extend that range a good bit.

bill,
there are also some radio freq usb streaming devices. essentially you plug the transmitter into your pc, and the receiver connects to the 990. i've seen usb on both ends and rca on the receiver end. if i can find the link i'll post it here.

the d-link here streams HDTV/muisc and almost anything else, but it looks like you need a very rescent pc to run it.

another d-link, for music only.

The squeezebox is a recent Logitech acquisition - it was developed by Slim Devices and has developed a loyal following due to good sound quality and pretty aggressive customer support. I use a Roku Labs SoundBridge M500 (which I reviewed here ). It's a pretty decent little device. For playing a specific internet radio station, though, not all of these devices will work. The SqueezeBox and SoundBridge support internet radio, but you'd have to make sure that their support would cover the station in question.

Realy apreciate the information.

Your post have given me another dirrection in which to research.I did not know such devices existed.
I live in a mountain valley in which radio stations, if they come in at all, are rather weak.
Besides I don't much care for them anyways.Internet Radio, in which I can customize to my musical taste is where I am most satified.
Thanks
