I was reading a post in the 7500 section and was jusy wondering if the 2nd trigger would effect a sms-1 in the power up mode(on and off). If so, could one use a y-mono splitter and trigger the 7500 and the sms-1 through port 1? Am i reading this problem wrong and being over problematic?

I don't know if it would be an issue or not - I just recall a comment or two about the 990's second trigger bouncing off and back on with input changes, but that might not be enough to affect the SMS-1.

For what it's worth, I just leave my SMS-1 on all the time - haven't turned it off that I recall since setting it up over a year and a half ago. It doesn't draw much power, runs cool, and has worked just fine being on continuously.

Nope, pretty much just the SMS-1. The sub and amps are on switched outlets in the power conditioner (which is controlled by the 990's trigger output) and I use macros on my MX-700 to turn on the TV and whatever sources I plan to use.

Guys, You know what, I got back my 990 last week and still got the problem of not getting it powered on.
I called Scott and he advised me to plug the 990 directly to the wall outlet. (I have been hooking up the 990 and other gears with 3 x ISOBAR Power/line conditioners at 3 different wall outlets.).
I plugged the 990 directly to a wall outlet last night. It could be turned on by the remove. I tried this morning again and it turned on. I will try again this evening to see what will happen.
Scott would be right, that the ISO Bar power conditioner is good for PCs, not for HiFi gears.
I would share this experience with you guys.

That's really interesting, Kwok. For what it's worth, my 990 has worked fine on both a Panamax MAX5100 and a Belkin PureAV PF60. The PF60 came from eCost and was pretty fairly priced (nowhere near the excessively high list price). Others have had good luck with TrippLite as well.

Gonk, thanks for advice. How much you paid for the PF60? I don't think this against the outlaws web rules.

I paid around $160, I think, and since eCost is an authorized dealer Belkin will honor the warranty. Currently eCost appears to be selling PF60 for $220 and the PF40 for $120.
