Nice project Gonk! Been very busy with work related travel and when home the spring yard work seems never ending. Tearing out and replacing the old kitchen floor and various painting projects leave little time to sit down and enjoy a cd or movie. Soon though. I am still very amazed at how well the 990/7500/B&W's sound. I had my doubts as an avid audio nut from the 70's when Crown, Threshold, GAS, MaC, ESS, Dalquist, Audio Reasearch were staples in my home. Those were the days when I tormented myself listening to my equipment more than the performance. I'm pretty much beyond that stage now and considering my standards are high I am truly impressed for the price.

I suspect there will be a surge of interest in this forum if Outlaw makes an update or replaces the 990. I remember the glory days of being on the 990 "pre-order" list and how we all anxiously checked the forum almost hourly -- hopeful for news of product shipments and user tests/feedback.

For new-be's, there is a lot of interesting threads to check out.
But summer does have a way cut into movie playing time.

Nothing like good tunes while babysitting the little one.....
Thanks Outlaw.

I made a joke about tumbleweeds blowing through the RR 2150 section a little while ago, and someone suggested that it was the silence of satisfied customers. Pretty sure there's an element of truth in that. Big bravo on the play-area project, Gonk. That's awesome.

The months to either side of the end of the year do tend to generate more activity around here, I think - people shopping for or buying new toys around the holidays and then asking questions about how to set them up. New product announcements do a lot, too, but typically the biggest impact of those is for surround receivers or processors (both due to the higher-profile nature and the greater complexity that leads to more questions). The RR2150, amps, and speakers tend to generate fewer questions because there's less to figure out - and the fewer questions there are, the fewer people who are likely to wander in here and introduce themselves.

We're very pleased with how the playground turned out - it was a busy few weekends getting that monster built. I just stopped to think about it: between that project, widening our driveway a bit (including two new retaining walls), a promotion at work (which officially takes effect tomorrow, although I won't move my office until I get back from a vacation in a couple weeks), several big projects at work, preparing for a certification test ( LEED for any of you architecture or construction types out there, which I thankfully passed yesterday), and keeping up with a two-year-old it's been a more hectic spring around here than I think I quite realized. I guess that explains why our Netflix discs have been hanging around a bit longer than usual before getting watched and mailed back. smile
